Frequently Asked Questions

Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?

Yes! Studies continue to show that teletherapy has the same results as in-person treatment. If you’re like most of my clients, you will love the flexibility that online therapy provides; you can meet with me where you are most comfortable, and never have to worry about sitting in an awkward waiting room, disrupting your work schedule, or commuting to and from sessions.

What are sessions like?

We will meet weekly for 50 minutes via a 100% private, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Our first few sessions will be all about getting to know one another, understanding the challenges you’re facing, and making sure you feel comfortable. From there, we will develop a “treatment plan” (a formal way of saying what your goals are and how we will reach them). That plan will act as a guide for your therapy, but sessions aren’t overly structured -- if you encountered something specific that week, we’ll unpack it together.

financial information

  • Sessions are 50 minutes for $190.

  • With your initial paperwork, I ask you input a credit card to keep on file in my secure payment system. I accept all major credit cards along with Flexible Savings Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA). At the end of each session, your card will be charged.

  • I don’t accept insurance but am happy to provide you with documentation (also known as a Superbill) for out-of-network benefits. If you plan on using these benefits, I highly recommend you contact your insurance company to make sure they cover telehealth services and ask how to submit for reimbursement.

Getting Started

In our fifteen minute phone consultation we will talk about what is going on in your life and how therapy can help. It will give you a chance to get a sense of my personality and what it will be like talking to me. This time is focused on determining whether I will be a good fit as your therapist and whether online therapy is right for you.   At the end of the consultation, we will work together to decide if scheduling an initial session is a good next step for you.
